This technique has a long tradition
in Italy. Copper or silver sheets embedded in enchasing cement are
formed into reliefs with various chisels. By means of simple preliminary
exercises working with chisels and hammer becomes more familiar.
More ambitious designs such as chiselled elements for more complex
pieces of jewellery can gradually be produced.
In charge of the course: is
Fabrizio Aquafresca, a experienced
craftsmen working for the famous Florentine silversmiths
Brandimarte.
He has also given courses in England, Germany and in the United States.
Location : The group will live and work in the house and
garden of a vine grower, situated on a hill overlooking the Arno Valley
near Florence from April 25th until May 2nd. On top of the classes,
the group will visit museums and traditional craft manufacturers
in Florence, discover Italian art, architecture and Tuscany landscape.
The cost of € 880.– includes comfortable lodging,
lunch, classes and the journey into Florence.
